Forget what you were taught in school, Columbus did not discover the Americas! The Americas was home to a number of diverse ethnic groups and cultures with complex social structures, different religions, contrasting architecture, exceptional economic systems and distinctive languages.

We understand that some of the content may be considered harsh for child audiences, but we strongly believe that the more children know, the more tolerant, critical, and balanced they will grow up to be.
Oveja Negra wants to bring forth not only the lives of amazing role models from around the world, but also the history that shaped their lives. We created this company to fill in the void in schools’ textbooks. It simply would not be moral for us to write about history without mentioning the good, the bad, and the ugly. Like the philosopher George Satanyana wisely said, “Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.” We provide tools for families to engage in conversations and foster children’s curiosity and critical thinking.
